About TELC exam

Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz is an authorised telc examination centre and conducts telc B1/B2 examinations in Polish as a foreign language. The telc B1/B2 exam is intended for learners of Polish who wish to confirm their language skills at the intermediate (B1) or upper-intermediate (B2) level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

About the exam:
The telc B1/B2 exam is a dual exam – its structure allows you to obtain a certificate at level B1 or B2, depending on the result achieved. The exam tests the practical language skills necessary in everyday life, education and work. The exam consists of a written and an oral part.
The written part includes (lasting a total of 115 minutes):

  • listening comprehension,
  • reading comprehension,
  • language elements,
  • written expression.

The oral part (lasting approximately 16 minutes):

  • usually takes place in pairs (two examinees or one examinee if there is an odd number of examinees and two licensed telc examiners),
  • consists of three parts - part 1: conversation about experiences and expressing opinions; part 2: presentation; part 3: discussion.

Certificate
A positive exam result results in an international telc certificate issued by telc gGmbH (Germany). The certificate is recognised by many educational and professional institutions in Poland and abroad.
Why TELC?
Holding a TELC certificate entitles you to apply for long-term EU resident status. A TELC certificate at level B2 is accepted by most universities.
